Growing Interest from Foreign InvestorsThe 20 smart cities being developed under the Indian government's Industrial Corridor Program are becoming a hot spot for global investors.

Rajat Kumar Saini, Chief Executive Officer and Managing Director of the National Industrial Corridor Development Corporation Limited (NICDC), stated that work on industrial smart cities is progressing rapidly. Countries in East and Southeast Asia, including Japan, South Korea, and Singapore, are showing interest in these industrial cities, which are being developed by NICDC.

Saini told Business Standard that interest in these cities remains high despite geopolitical concerns and uncertainties. He said, "NICDC cities regularly attract global interest." Apart from Japan, Korea, and Singapore, there is growing interest in these cities from other countries including Germany, Italy, UAE (United Arab Emirates), UK, Taiwan, Russia, and others.
Sectors being focused on include advanced manufacturing, semiconductors, electronics, pharmaceuticals, aerospace, defense, heavy industry, textiles, food processing, and others. Twenty industrial smart cities are to be developed along industrial corridors under the government's National Industrial Corridor Development Program.
The broader vision is to create a world-class industrial infrastructure and make India a global manufacturing hub.
